About Us

In 2012, thanks to a generous grant from the Otto Bremer Foundation, the National Parkinson Foundation Minnesota kicked off an initiative to create Parkinson’s-Friendly Communities and improve the lives of people and families living with Parkinson’s in Willmar, Alexandria, Mankato, St. Cloud, and Fargo, ND.

During the past year, we have come to appreciate the individual identities, needs and challenges of each community. By listening to people living with Parkinson’s, their practitioners and caregivers, we have been able to gain trust and develop programs and initiatives that will give way to a Parkinson-friendly legacy in these communities for years to come.

Through programming, infrastructure investment and therapist specialists training, we are meeting the needs and improving the lives of people living with Parkinson’s in Alexandria, Willmar, Mankato, St. Cloud, and Fargo N.D.
